(British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists)
I offer counselling to clients who want help to cope with situations that are making them feel anxious, stressed, and stuck, angry or sad. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who want to know themselves better, have experienced a loss or breakdown within an important relationship, or want to explore or repair a family or parenting issue. I also offer anger and anxiety management, couple and psychosexual therapy and trauma counselling.
Building positive, stronger, and more fulfilling relationships is at the heart of all my work, whether that relationship is with yourself, with your family and loved ones, at work and certainly you as a client and me as your therapist.
I work in an integrated way offering the skills and techniques that empower you. These can include shorter term CBT and practical problem-solving techniques to longer term work exploring issues on a deeper basis.
All messages are private and confidential.
After initial contact by phone or email we will arrange to meet you for an assessment. Your initial session will allow us to meet and get to know each other and begin to explore the concerns you want to bring to therapy. This will help you decide if we feel like the right people for you and we will also assess if we are the right people to meet your needs.
We will agree when and how often we will meet, we normally offer 1 or 2 weekly sessions of 50 minutes each. Together we will review on a regular basis how the therapy is progressing to check that your needs are being met.
We have experience working within the NHS, public and voluntary sectors, as well as running busy private practices. We work within a diverse cultural community with a range of different people from many walks of life, backgrounds and circumstances.
